Pick Your Wambolts Week: Summer 2027 Openings + Fall Getaways

Summer 2027 is taking shape.

Most cabins are down to just two or three full summer weeks, and a few favorites are even tighter.

Cabin 10? Already booked for the summer.
Cabin 15? Just one week left.

But there are still some really good weeks out there — including a few where friends or family can grab cabins at the same time.

So if Wambolts has been floating around in your summer plans, now’s a good time to see what fits.

And while you’re looking, we’ve got a few new things to show you too.

A little new. A lot still Wambolts.

  • Cabin 1 is getting its own little after-hours hangout. New dining table, new porch furniture and a more private outdoor space with lounge seating, fairy lights and some shade. Basically: beach cabin by day, cozy hideaway by night.

  • Cabin 5 had a pretty major glow-up. The former Cabins 5 and 6 are now one roomy two-bedroom cabin with two bathrooms, AC, a dishwasher, an updated kitchen and a private courtyard. Historic cabin. Much smarter setup.

  • Cabin 11 finally got the kitchen it deserved. Our oldest cabin is keeping all the character, just with a brand-new kitchen that works a whole lot better.

  • Cabin 12 got more room to gather. New banquette seating means more space for meals, cards, puzzles and whatever random lake stuff ends up on the table.

  • Cabin 14 got a double upgrade. New kitchen, new banquette seating, same ridiculously good location just steps from the water.

  • Laundry got less annoying. We added another washer and dryer in the bathhouse because somehow one week at the lake creates three weeks’ worth of laundry.

  • There’s a whole lot more to explore across the road. The Mantrap Lake Wildlife Management Area is now open, adding protected woods, shoreline, wildlife and more places to hike, wander and disappear for a while.

  • And we’re not done yet. We’ve got a few more projects in the works that we’ll be sharing later this winter.

And yes, the porches are still doing most of the heavy lifting around here.

Coffee on the porch. Books on the porch. Dinner on the porch. Watching someone else bait the kids’ hooks from the porch.

We are big believers in porch-based vacations.

So, what’s still open?

Here are some of the Summer 2027 weeks worth grabbing.

Cabin 1 — June 13 & June 27 - Three bedrooms, right by the beach and sunrise views. Plus that new outdoor space for 2027.

Cabin 2 — June 13 & August 8 - Two bedrooms, big porch, close to the beach and wonderfully classic Wambolts.

Cabin 3 — June 6 & June 20 - King bed, record player, porch and a very smart use of space. Cozy without feeling cramped.

Cabin 5 — August 1 - Two bedrooms, two bathrooms, AC, dishwasher and its own courtyard. One of our most updated historic cabins.

Cabin 7 — June 6 - A rare early-summer opening in one of our family-friendly cabins.

Cabin 8 — July 25 - Quiet, tucked away and complete with its own little library. Bring a book.Actually, bring three.

Cabin 9 — June 27 - Two bedrooms, loft, AC and a soaking tub. Wambolting, slightly spoiled.

Cabin 10 — SOLD OUT June through August - Apparently everyone wants to sleep in the old Wambolts dining hall.If Cabin 10 is your cabin, ask us to put you on the waiting list. Plans change. Cancellations happen. We want to know who to call.

Cabin 11 — June 6, June 20 & August 8 - Our most historic cabin has plenty of room, great outdoor space and now a brand-new kitchen. Old soul. New stove.

Cabin 12 — June 6 & August 1 - Two bedrooms, hammock, floating dock and that new banquette seating. August 1 is looking pretty darn good from here.

Cabin 14 — June 27th, July 11, August 1 - Steps from the water. One of the best porches at Wambolts. New kitchen. New banquette.

Cabin 15 — June 27 - Three bedrooms. AC. Privacy. Big porch. Updated kitchen. And this is the important part: It’s the only summer week left.

Want to Wambolt together?

A few weeks have more than one cabin available, which is perfect for friends or family who want to vacation together without actually vacationing that together.

  • June 6 has several cabin options.

  • June 13 has Cabins 1, 2 and 11.

  • June 20 has Cabins 3 and 11.

  • June 27 has Cabins 1, 9 and 15.

  • August 1 has Cabins 5 and 12.

  • August 8 has Cabins 1, 2, 3 and 5

Same lake. Separate cabins. Everyone goes home still speaking to each other.

Or… don’t wait until next summer

Because we still have fall openings this year.

And the colors are already starting to turn earlier.

Fall might be the most underrated time to Wambolt.

Cool mornings. Quiet lake. Hiking at Mantrap. Sweatshirt weather. Sauna weather. Campfire weather.

And a porch with absolutely nowhere else you need to be.

You can keep an eye on the season with the Minnesota DNR Fall Color Finder.

Summer gets all the attention. Fall knows better.

Not sure which cabin?

Call us. Seriously. Tell us who’s coming, when you can get away and what matters most. Beach? Privacy? Porch? More bedrooms? A cabin near another family? We know every weird little corner of these cabins, and sometimes the best fit isn’t the one you started out looking at.

Feel free to call anytime with questions. We want to find a place for you.

Lake Days. Then. Now. Always.
