By booking at Wambolts Cabins, I agree to the following:
(Because Wambolting is best when we’re all on the same page.)
I understand that if I don’t follow these guidelines, Wambolts Cabins may end my stay early—and I won’t be refunded. I’m here to relax, recharge, and respect the lake, the cabins, and everyone else doing the same.
✳️ Payments & Cancellations
I’ll pay 50% at booking and the rest 7 days before I arrive.
If I cancel more than 90 days out, I’ll get 80% back.
If I cancel within 90 days, I’ll only get a refund (minus $200) if my spot gets rebooked.
I understand that if I leave early, I won’t be refunded.
✳️ Arrival & Departure
Check-in is any time after 3:00 PM.
Checkout is 9:00 AM sharp.
I get that someone else is looking forward to a clean cabin, too.
✳️ My Cabin
I know what’s included:
Bedding, dishes, utensils, pots and pans
Microwave, refrigerator, and stove
I’ll let Wambolts know if anything breaks.
I won’t bring my own A/C. If I want it cool, I’ll book a cabin with A/C.
✳️ Guests & Parking
I’ll only bring the number of guests I booked for.
If I need space for more, I’ll rent another cabin.
I’ll park in designated areas and avoid leaving my car by the cabins for more than 30 minutes (no lakeside car shows, got it).
✳️ Pets
I won’t bring pets unless I’ve rented the entire property.
If I need a kennel, I’ll check out options in Park Rapids.
✳️ Firewood, Fire Pits & Fire Safety
I won’t bring outside firewood (to help stop pests like the emerald ash borer).
I’ll buy wood only from Wambolts Cabins.
I’ll only use enclosed fire pits.
I’ll never leave a fire unattended and I’ll put it completely out with water before walking away.
I’ll follow all current DNR fire restrictions.
✳️ Trash, Recycling & Bears
I’ll put garbage in the dumpster at the top of the driveway (it’s up there on purpose—because, bears).
Recycling goes in the bins by the shed.
I’ll never leave trash outside. If I need help with garbage, I’ll text or call.
✳️ Quiet Hours
I’ll keep noise low and respect quiet hours from 11 PM to 8 AM.
I won’t blast music or have rowdy late-night fires.
(Unless I brought a boombox… in which case I’ll show it off respectfully. James will want to see my boombox).
✳️ Swimming & Sauna
Swimming:
I’ll swim at my own risk—there’s no lifeguard.
I won’t run on docks.
I won’t dive off docks.

If I’m making this booking on behalf of a group, I accept full responsibility for informing all users of these terms and conditions. I will ensure everyone in my group uses the sauna safely and understands what to bring and what to avoid.Sauna Safety Rules
Supervision: Anyone under 18 must be accompanied by a responsible adult.
No alcohol, nudity, or smoking is allowed in or near the sauna.
I’ll remove all metal jewelry, as it can become dangerously hot.
I’ll limit sauna sessions to 30 minutes or less.
I’ll stay hydrated before, during, and after sauna use.
I’ll only use clean, fresh water on the sauna rocks—never lake water or other liquids.
If I feel dizzy, faint, or unwell at any time, I’ll exit the sauna immediately and notify staff if needed.
By booking and using the sauna, I confirm that I have read and understand this waiver, and I agree to follow all posted and stated safety guidelines.
✳️ Boating & Watercraft
I’ll wear a lifejacket and make sure there’s one for every person on board.
I know that kids under 16 are legally required to wear lifejackets at all times.
I understand I’m responsible for any damage to boats (like if I put the wrong gas in).
I’ll only use resort-provided gas (first tank is included, extras available for purchase).
I won’t pull tubes, wakeboards, or waterskis with Wambolts boats.
New MN Boater Law (2025):
If I’m between 12–17 years old, I’ll need a Minnesota Watercraft Operator Permit to drive a motorized boat over 25hp—including rentals. I’ll get certified at dnr.state.mn.us.
Watercraft Limits:
One motorized watercraft per cabin.
I’ll get approval before bringing more.
I know there’s a public boat launch off County 24 (about 1 mile away).
✳️ Wi-Fi, EV Charging & A/C
I’ll enjoy the great Wi-Fi, but maybe I’ll log off now and then.
I can use the EV charger (just ask if I need help). I’ll pay via Venmo.
If I want A/C, I’ll book a cabin that has it—I won’t bring my own unit.
✳️ Septic System
I’ll only flush toilet paper—nothing else. No wipes, hygiene products, or “flushable” stuff (they’re not actually flushable).
✳️ No Smoking
I won’t smoke inside cabins.
I won’t smoke within 200 feet of the beach or buildings.
I won’t smoke in the sauna.
✳️ Wildlife
I know this is bear country (and chipmunk, loon, deer, and turtle country, too).
I’ll keep food and trash secured and treat all wildlife with respect.
✳️ No Drones, Fireworks, or Generators
I won’t bring any of the above. Peace, quiet, and loons win here.
✳️ Valuables
I’ll keep an eye on my stuff—Wambolts isn’t responsible for lost or stolen items.
✳️ Be Cool
Wambolts is a place to relax, unplug, and enjoy the lake life.
If I’m unsafe, disruptive, or making it hard for others to enjoy their time, I understand I’ll be asked to leave—and I won’t get a refund.
✳️ Storms & Severe Weather
While we hope for clear skies during your stay, weather in our region can change quickly. We encourage all guests to remain aware of weather conditions and to take responsibility for their own safety if storms develop.
Please note: Guests are responsible for staying informed and responding appropriately to weather events. We do not assume liability for individual safety decisions.
For Guests in Container Cabins:
If severe weather occurs, you may choose to relocate to one of the following reinforced structures for shelter:
The Bath House
The Wam
The Bolt
These buildings are always accessible and offer additional protection.
For Guests in Log Cabins:
Log cabins are solidly built and suitable for staying inside during storms. For extra safety:
Avoid windows
Move to an interior space like the bathroom, if needed
⚠️ Severe Weather Awareness & Lake Safety
Do not enter or remain on the lake during any sign of severe weather or thunderstorms.
Lightning, high winds, and fast-moving systems can make the lake extremely dangerous with little warning.
Please keep watercraft secured and avoid shoreline areas during storms.
General Safety Tips:
Stay informed using weather apps and alerts on your phone
Bring outdoor gear (chairs, coolers, etc.) inside ahead of storms
Keep a flashlight, charged phone, and essentials accessible
Avoid travel on unpaved or low-lying roads during heavy rain
We provide this guidance to support your comfort and peace of mind. Ultimately, you are the best judge of what’s safe for you and your group. Please take all appropriate precautions and don’t hesitate to reach out to us if you have questions.
