Short Stays, New Swim Spots, & a Few More Ways to Wambolt

There’s a certain point every spring where it starts to feel real again.

The chairs are prepped. The docks are in. Someone’s already asking if the fish are biting. And we’re standing there thinking… okay, here we go.

This year feels especially good.

You don’t need a full week anymore

We opened up short stays.

You can now come:
Sunday–Wednesday or Wednesday–Sunday

Same cabins. Same lake.
Just easier to sneak away for a few days.

Come up. Exhale. Head back before real life notices you’re gone.

We’ve been working on the lake (a lot)

If you’ve been here before, you know the rhythm.

If you haven’t, here’s how your day might go now:

Start at The Beach

This one’s still the classic.

Sandy. Shallow. Easy.

Kids walk right in. Coffee in hand. No rush to do anything else.

Then wander over to The Float (new this year)

This is the one we’re most excited about.

It’s out in front of Cabin 11 by the Bottle Lake Lounger. We cleared it out and now it’s about 8 feet deep. You can skip the sand and go straight for the lake.

There are Adirondack chairs, loungers, and two Paddle North rafts.

It’s the kind of place where you say, “just a minute,” and then look up and it’s an hour later.

Maybe two.

Don’t skip The Sauna Dock

This one hasn’t changed, because it didn’t need to.

Eight Adirondack chairs. Sun on your face. Water right there.

Heat up. Jump in. Sit back down. Do it again.

There’s no wrong way to spend time here.

For the ones who brought a rod…

We added a new 80-foot fishing dock at Cabin 5 🎣

Plenty of room to spread out. Plenty of room to tell stories about the one that got away (or didn’t).

We’re still keeping an eye out for the Bottle Lake lunker.

And yes… Cabin 5 got a glow-up (reopens at the end of June)

This was our big project.

Cabin 5 will be fully updated with:

  • A brand new kitchen

  • Two bedrooms and two bathrooms (sleeps 6)

  • A private firepit

  • A covered outdoor living room

It still feels like Wambolts. Just a little more comfortable to settle into.

A quick moment of honesty

This is our highest occupancy since we bought Wambolts.

We feel that.

We feel it when the docks are full, when the lights are on at night, when the coffee is brewing in a dozen cabins at once.

And we don’t take it for granted.

Not even a little.

Memorial Day (if you’re thinking about it…)

We still have a limited number of guided fishing spots open for Memorial Day weekend.

They’re available when you book a three-night stay.

First come. They won’t last long.

And one more thing…

We started doing warm caramel rolls on Monday mornings.

They’re there until they’re gone.

That’s the whole system.

If you’ve been thinking about coming up, this might be your window.

You don’t need a full week.
You don’t need a big plan.

Just a couple of days. A place to sit. A reason to stay a little longer than you meant to.

Come Wambolt a little.
